Council meetings are held on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month. On second Thursdays, meetings are held at 9:30 a.m. On fourth Thursdays, the council convenes at 5:00 p.m.

South Central Regional Library

Located in the province of MB, we are home to the South Central Regional Library. We are open on the following days:

  • Monday: CLOSED
  • Tuesday: 10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
  • Wednesday: 10:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
  • Thursday: 2:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
  • Friday: 1:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
  • Saturday: 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Levy fees in cash or check are required when taking waste to the landfill site.

$5.00 Minimum for Residents of the R.M. of Thompson

$40.00 Minimum for Non-Resident Contractors

(Prices are Based per Metric Tonne)

Effective July 1, 2017 the fee per deposit entering the Waste Disposal Ground is set to $5.00.

Garbage/Recycling

Garbage/Recycling day within the L.U.D. of Miami is on Wednesdays, please have your bags set out at the curb by 8:00 a.m. For Rural Residents of the R.M. of Thompson there is a garbage trailer located beside the Recycling Shed on Norton Avenue next to the Civic Centre on Tuesdays from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. for waste disposal. We kindly remind all residents that there is a 2 bag limit for garbage; there are tags available for purchase at the Civic Centre for $2.00 per tag if you exceed the limit. We strongly encourage our Residents to recycle whenever possible. The Recycling Shed is open for drop off at your convenience.
