Lloyd Orchard Community Arena

The Lloyd Orchard Community Arena is more than just a rink — it’s a place where our community comes together during the winter months. From early morning practices to evening games, the arena is filled with energy, laughter, and the familiar sounds of skates on ice.

Used throughout the winter season, the arena is home to local hockey teams, public skating, and community events that bring residents of all ages together. It’s where kids learn to skate, friendships are built, and families gather to cheer from the stands.

For many, the arena is a winter tradition — a place that creates lasting memories year after year. Its continued operation relies on the dedication of volunteers, user groups, and the support of the community.

Donations help keep this important space running, ensuring that future generations can experience the same sense of connection, activity, and community spirit that the Lloyd Orchard Community Arena provides.

Plans for the Upcoming Year

With the 2025 / 2026 season wrapped up, we are looking forward to plans for 2026 / 2027.  At the top of our list of projects the board has been planning is a new garage to house the tractor and Zamboni.  Our current tractor room is insufficient in several categories.  It is cramped for space for our current tractor and Zamboni and is not set up for any potential upgrades to a propane self-propelled Zamboni in the future.  It is very inefficient to heat during our winters which inflates our heating bill for the winter months.  Our facility has a busy schedule which is fantastic.  This means more floods that need to be done, and more maintenance on the hot water tanks, Zamboni blade, etc.  With the current setup it is difficult to perform basic maintenance to the equipment. For all these reasons, the board has discussed building a new addition in the same area the current tractor room is sitting. The new build would be two feet longer and 2 feet wider than the current heated portion and cold storage portion currently sitting at the southwest corner of the arena building. The total footprint of the planned tractor room would be 30’ long and 20’ wide with a ceiling height of 12’ to accommodate any plans in the future for a self-propelled propane Zamboni. With a new build, the rink board agrees that we would have:

- a safer access to and from the tractor room onto the ice

- a better space to preform basic maintenance on flooding equipment

-a better place to store hockey nets and equipment providing more room for the public in the stands and entry doors to the ice.

- an easier access point to push nets to and from ice surface rather than lifting them through the player gates on north end of ice.

- an energy efficient room to bring heating costs down.

-a more secure and better environment to store tractor, Zamboni, hot water tanks during the winter and summer. The tractor room has been an access point in past years for break in and theft in the facility.
